Crossdresser (CD)

A crossdresser is an individual who dresses in clothing traditionally or stereotypically worn by the opposite gender from time to time. Although some of these individuals might have procedures such as electrolysis or facial feminizing surgery none will go all the way and have genital reassignment. Crossdressers are happy in their gender.

Crossdressers are almost always heterosexual men. If you were to meet a crossdresser when he was not dressed you might be surprised by his appearance and even his marital/work status. Crossdressers are found in every military bransch of service, many major corporations as heads of their departments and even in the upper partnerships. Crossdressers also include, among other vocations, sports figures, policemen, educators, carpenters and even ministers.

Crossdressers were traditionally referred to as transvestites but that term has lost it's popularity in the last twenty to thirty years. The word transvestite was a combination of two Latin words trans, meaning to cross, and vestire, meaning clothing or garments.
